Orora Visual Introduces Sustainable Fabric Graphics

Mesquite, TX [October 2021]

Orora Visual is excited to introduce a new sustainable fabric to its arsenal of eco-friendly print solutions. The fabric is made of 100% post-consumer recycled PET* bottles which are then ground to a pulp and woven into printable polyester fabrics used for visual communications, displays, and graphics in retail and commercial environments.

“We are constantly driving our initiative to find sustainable options for our customers and our own Orora Visual goals.  Up until now we were only able to source fabrics that had some recycled content. We are delighted to have found a few new 100% recycled fabrics that can be printed via different print methods for a variety of applications”, said Orora Visual’s Procurement Director, Jason Miller. The fabrics are available up to 133” wide and can be printed via dye sublimation as well as UV inkjet digital presses housed at Orora Visual’s multiple manufacturing locations across the U.S.

The eco-friendly material comes at a time when Orora Visual and its parent company, Orora Group LTD, have announced its new chapter in sustainability. “The focus of our new sustainability chapter is based on three pillars to include aggressive Circular Economy targets, addressing Climate Change and enriching our Community,” said Bob Firenze, President, Orora Visual. “Our ‘Promise to The Future’ extends to our customers, our team members, and our community,” he added.

The 100% recycled eco-friendly fabric reduces Orora’s carbon footprint by eliminating PET plastic waste to landfill and reduces the need for new raw materials in the production of its visual communications offering.

Additionally, fabric graphics are much lighter in weight than typical vinyl banners or rigid plastic substrates. They can be folded up and shipped in much smaller boxes as well, resulting in far less shipping costs and environmental impact.

[*PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is a form of polyester (just like the clothing fabric). It is extruded or molded into plastic bottles and containers for packaging foods and beverages, personal care products, and many other consumer products.]
